Donyell Marshall born May 18, 1973 in Reading, Pennsylvania, USA is a professional basketball player currently with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The 6'9", 218 lb forward was selected after his junior year at the University of Connecticut by the Minnesota Timberwolves as the fourth overall pick of the 1994 NBA Draft.
He was traded 40 games into his rookie season to the Golden State Warriors in exchange for power forward Tom Gugliotta on February 18, 1995. Then Donyell went on to play with the Warriors until 2000 when they traded him to the Utah Jazz as part of four-team deal.
After two seasons with Utah, he signed as a free agent with the Chicago Bulls on August 16, 2002. On December 1st, 2003, he was dealt to the Toronto Raptors along with Jalen Rose and Lonny Baxter for Antonio Davis, Jerome Williams and Chris
Jefferies. He spent almost two seasons with Toronto before signing as a free agent with the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2005 offseason. A three-team trade between the Seattle SuperSonics, Cleveland Cavaliers and Chicago Bulls on February 21st, 2008, brought Donyell Marshall, guard Ira Newble and Chicago’s forward Adrian Griffin to the Sonics. In exchange for these three players, Sonics forward Wally Szczerbiak and guard Delonte were traded to Cleveland.
In 13 NBA seasons, he holds career averages of 11.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. Although mostly playing at power forward, Marshall is a good three-point shooter. In a March 13, 2005 game against the Philadelphia 76ers, he tied Kobe Bryant's NBA record for three-point field goals made in one game, when he hit 12 of 19 attempts.

Donyell went back to UConn recently for the Jim Calhoun Charity All Star Game held at the Mohegan Sun Arena.
The charity event hosted past players from UConn and gave Donyell a chance to reconnect with friends and Coach Calhoun. Donyell played on the White team and had 27 points, 25 in the second half and made 7 of 10 from the three point line.
Donyell was named MVP. The blue team was the younger team and jumped out to an early double digit lead but cooler heads prevailed and the white team stayed focused, and the white team did get the win (133-126).
The charity event benefited the Jim and Pat Calhoun Cardiology Research Endowment Fund at the UConn Health Center.
